Yeah, I don't have a nice gaming PC, but I'm thinking about getting one, mainly just for this game!!
I know gaming laptops are way more expensive than a desktop, but I might have a better chance of getting some playing time if I can play on a laptop... (Could take it to work and play on break, easier to take while traveling, and could play while lying in bed, and not have to be in a separate room and ignore the wife)...
What y'all think?? We can more this to off-topic if needed...

Yea man ultimately it's whatever works best for you. Sure it's more expensive but that doesn't mean it's not a better value for you in your situation. That's not something most people consider when their offering "advice" lol.

Yep, us PC players love to leave that out. LOL! But yeah I hear ya, some people leave out the cost of buying a PC and if it is really worth it or not to spend that money.

So it looks like CnC is getting ready for their first test run, here is what I have found
Servertest: We’re currently in the process of preparing everything; starting from about (!) 8pm CET (7pm UTC, 2pm EST) we’re going to begin our server tests (should nothing interfere). You’ll receive the corresponding invitation via email shortly beforehand.
It won’t just be a test file, but rather you’ll receive a CnC tech demo, meaning you’ll be able to test Cattle and Crops for the first time!
We would like to outline what you can expect and where the release of CnC is going from here:
Release strategy EA:
We’re dividing the Early Access Alpha release of Cattle and Crops into three phases:
Planned:
Phase 1: Launcher and tech demo incl. dev map v0.0.8 (June 9, 2017)
Phase 2: Tech demo update: Editor v0.0.9 (June 2017)
Phase 3: EA release as announced in Kickstarter v0.1.0 (June 2017)
Using this approach, we have the option to check if, for example, there are problems with certain hardware configurations, the updates run smoothly via the launcher or if there are other severe bugs with the distribution. For you this is finally(!) the opportunity to experience Cattle and Crops for yourself, to look at it, drive around, play around but also to give feedback and constructive criticism.
The tech demo will subsequently be improved and updated until we have a stable CnC version v0.1.0 alpha. After we have ensured stability we will release the CnC EA version via steam as planned. Until then, CnC will only be available with our launcher and server.
What to expect today:
The CnC tech demo contains the current developer DevMap where we carry out our internal tests. You’ll get the Claas Arion 530 and the Köckerling Rebell Classic 410 to work the harvested corn fields. Additionally you’ll be able to drive around, take a look at the farm and environment and acquaint yourself with Cattle and Crops.
IMPORTANT:
For the time being, the tech demo will only run on a 64 bit (x64) Windows system (Win 7 or higher); a version for 32 bit (x86), Linux and Apple will follow later.
The Nvidia graphics error has been fixed with the current drivers (382.53 and above). Please update accordingly.

Oh man that's exciting! Does anyone know if there's an non disclosure agreement attached to the EA? Surely not I hope.

that is a good question.. given the slow pace at which they disseminate info there might be... but they may not have one if they really want to get the word out..

Yea it seems like it would be good advertisement for them to have people posting up YouTube videos. As long as it's good lol.

Might steal some thunder. With the exception of a few really nice looking mods there isn't anything groundbreaking that we haven't already seen. I guess I expected more in the way of different packs and things like that. Don't get me wrong the mods that are there or nice-looking mods I guess it's just not what I expected. Now the black sheep pack the seasons mod and a few others look extremely exceptional

I'm sort of just hoping right now that I don't end up regretting not buying into Early Access for cattle and crops LOL

A very limited version of CNC released last night called a tech demo with just a tractor and cultivate on what looks like probably their developer map. Sounds like if this phase goes off as planned they will add features later this coming week. I'm not linking videos cause all the ones I found were bad first impression videos. These guys should have taken at least five minutes in the map before they released a video on it because they all mucked their videos up. Some seemed really impressed with certain feature and others were put off by some really buggy mechanics such as some of the IC controls not working right. It's really early so it's hard to get a grasp on whether it's good or not. All anyone could do was cultivate and drive around. It is a very pretty game graphically.

They had to start somewhere I guess, I just hope people aren't too harsh on them for this pre alpha test because that's all it is at this point. The main thing is that there is progress being made. I am sure FS started out much the same 10 yrs ago.

Oh I'm sure it did. And quite possibly there will be bugs that pop up after down load that didn't show in the dev build. From what they said this phase is just to get their launcher and updater working right so what ppl are playing may even be an older build if the game so they can run updates. That would make sense to do. I can say a couple things I saw that were really encouraging was the menu and UI. Mist exciting was the fact that you can edit controls while in game. Really gets me down that you still have to exit your save game in fs to change controls.
