So I have to admit. I have never cheated money into one of my maps (other than my 'test' map), because I think that defeats the purpose... But I have also never played one map long enough to afford all the fields and buy the largest equipment and have tons of animals, etc...
So, I have cheated a bit with American Outback, in order to get a nice head start. I got the $1,000,000 gold nugget(s), sold all the default equipment, and installed a few money cheat boxes. Fast-Forwarded time until I had about $4,500,000 in the bank. I bought 2 large tractors, the NH 10.90 (or whatever that big combine is), a large tipper, large seeder, large plow, driveable sprayer, some mowing equipment, and about 10 of the fields!!!
I'm broke again, but now my mission is to use that large equipment and the 10 or so fields to try and earn enough money to buy the remaining 10 or so fields along with at least 100 of each animal...
Feels like I'm cheating, but I'm getting tired of starting from scratch with every map. This way I get to jump right into some fun stuff, on big fields with big equipment.
Does anyone else do this, or am I being a douche?

I don't think so at all mdoss. I am the same in that I don't like to cheat but there are only so many times you can start from square one and grind away with the 3m equipment. I did the same on Chellington, gave myself enough that I didn't have to grind for the first 30 hrs but yet still left myself lots to do and lots of room to expand. I think of it like I have been farming for 25 yrs already haha. I didn't cheat in any on this map but I have done it. It's amazing just how quick you can spend 5 million in this game lol.

I may be wrong but it seems as though unless we start out with more money on Mustang Valley Ranch,or any other big map, we will need to use the cheat to afford the Big Bud equipment and the fields to put them on.

Yep. blademaster. I was thinking the same thing. That's gotta be some expensive equipment!! And expensive fields!

Looks like we have water rights on American Outback. That's going to help the budget.

I don't know about you guys but I am pretty much over doing the missions, I would sooner cheat a little money in to get going rather than spend the first 10 hrs on a map doing missions. Like I said I didn't cheat in any money on this save but I am trying playing it on easy. I am going to see how that works, but yeah on MVR I think I will probably start myself with a little more cash.

American outback is actually the first map I am doing post trophies... so I went and got the nugget and sold everything that was given to us and got the choices of equipment I want to start with. I didn't purchase any new fields... I plowed and seeded the one field we have been given and right now I am cutting grass, baling and wrapping 5 large areas that are unowned to get cash to purchase another field.
I have this quirky thing where each map I use a certain tractor / harvester brand... this map happens to be Case, which all the starting equipment was... but I still sold it all to get the models I wanted. My new Thornton save that I am going to start is to be NH..and Drumard which I just finished up on was all Fendt... I am loving this map... when Mustang rolls out I think MF is next in line...which means I won't get the largest in game harvester but thats fine...

cr41g I'm going with Case on AO also, just makes sense. It's New Holland on Law Folds. GCV was my first map I played. Started from scratch. No cheats. Over 418 hours later I owned a bunch of equipment and half the fields. Pigs, cows and sheep. Sold all of hard assets and figured 200k per field. walked away with 7 mil. Put that in FS17 bank and put 2 mil into Sosnovka, and so on and so forth. Drumard was easy to find gold and silage was very profitable so I didn't use money there. to be honest I'm probably way overdrawn on my first 7 mil. but I figure I did my time on GCV. Maybe if the loan could be raised to 1 mil and we had to pay that back?

I don't do multiple saves. I play a map till I find one I like better then I "sell" the farm equipment animals and all and move to another. I lose the depreciation on vehicles but sell animals and grain and move the money to another save with a new map and delete the old one. I did it on ps4 before moving back to PC by using the cheat boxes until I reached the right amount then getting rid of them. Makes me feel like I'm always progressing and not wasting my time abandoning a save.

preble818Yeah, I've seen some youtubers do that with their series as well. When finished with one map, sell everything, then start the next map with that amount of cash, so you don't have to start from scratch every time you start a new map... I think I'll start doing that from here on out... I have been sticking to only one map at a time, but I've been starting from scratch every time until Outback... So I don't guess I really cheated at all! Went from Goldcrest Valley, just a little on Lossberg, to Chellington, to Coldborough Park, to Old Stream Farm... I'm sure I've earned more than my little 4.5 million I started American Outback with...

Holy moly blademaster you had that many hours on GCV! Were you getting the choppy lag as you got more equipment when using workers? Mine was getting pretty bad and I am only at 225 hrs. I tried going back to it last night but ended up on AO, I still don't feel I am done on GCV but I don't know if I will make it back to it now.

You guys should give cherry hills a go for big bud. You have to use CP but it works better than the AI anyway and I'm now producing my own liquid and dry fertilizer and diesel fuel with the built in mods. Any trees I cut down several different wood product mills. Just enough extras to be fun without taking my focus from farming.
