I am waiting now for the PC flamers to rear their ugly heads and to bemoan how mods can be just for PC if they want and how the game is much better on PC..
The one thing they all fail to realize is that if Giants didnt have the income generated by consoles...which by account is HALF... the game they enjoy now would have been much different than it is now.

This is true and if you factor in that us console players pay 30% more for the game we account for a lot more of the gross revenue. When they did the contest in 15 they put the winning mods out as a DLC so it will be interesting to see how that plays out now that we get mods for free. I generally don't stir the pot with the PC guys because most of them have been pretty good, with a few PC elitist exceptions. It's the console players who can't grasp how the whole mods thing works that are driving me crazy to the point where I am embarrassed to be a console player! I'm not talking about you Craig asking if the mod contest mods will be console compatible because I think that is a fair question and one that I was curious about too. This small minority are making us look like a bunch of whiners and I am just fed up with it. You just gotta love when a modder like TSM or SOMS2 post a progress report saying they are not sure when it will be ready and the very next post is a question asking when it will be out for console *shakes his head* I just can't grasp the concept of demanding stuff from people who give you stuff for free.....
Oh i could not agree more... some of the stuff is embarrasing to read... makes me cringe. But yes I did thank I posed a valid question and you are correct we did eventually see winning mods as a DLC... way more so in FS13 than FS15.. FS13 had three separate DLC's if I recall correctly... all nice stuff.

I couldn't image how it is to read those threads as a console player's view point. I would be embarrassed to read that too, and as a PC player, I like to think we are equal and no one should be lower than us PC guys, but from what I have read on some of the GIANTS' forum, some the PC players like to be-little the console players and then that just releases a whole can of worms. That doesn't need to happen. I think there needs to be more word from GIANTS on how this mod thing works since some console players can't grasp that topic.
For the mod contest, when a PC player makes a mod for the contest, you would think they would all be for console, since like you guys said, you paid 30% more for the product, so you guys should get everything in the mod contest, unless it's a script, but I would think GIANTS should have the authority to change them, to make them console-compatible. Or else... the GIANTS forum will get a ton of hate, bickering, and topics about how they didn't get what PC players got, which I think, is sad to see, especially since it is a "GIANTS-ran program" and since they made Mod-Hub, console players should get the mod contest mods. Sometimes, it is worth the extra mile.
"say 5 mods are up for voting (I know.. really simplistic) .. 2 are console compatable and 3 are not..50% of the player base being on console could upvote the two console mods to wins"..
meaning if evenly split which is possible...but not probable... the two console compat mods would get 25% of all votes and the three PC only mods would only get +/- 17% each... in a perfect world...hahahaa
Sorry if I am off target here. chances are I am. For some reason my phone won't let me open that link so no idea the discussion. But the giants mod contest really is a one sided affair since us "cheap" poor, scum of the earth console users ( I have seen all these terms get flung towards us console users I can assure you my console was by no means cheap it cost more than a PC that was able to run fs on it smoothly) are unable to mod anything. What exactly is the incentive for console users?? As stated above console sales generate a considerable amount for their company yet we get very little in the way of benefits. Now this isn't aimed.towards PC users at all even though it sounds it. I can't think how to word it better just now. But the PC mods are limitless . console are few and far between due to restrictions supposedly put in place by Sony. PC users can acquire things from sites all over the place. Mod sites galore. We poor guys get hit with random stuff at random times. I love being a poor 500 dollar console user . hell I'm thankful we get any mods what so ever. But giants need to realise where most of their money comes from so give us scum of the earth an incentive to constantly purchase your title and your dlc!!!
Wow what's wrong with me tonight?? Rants galore. someone take my phone away please
Ex Xbox ambassador Twitch/beam streamer All round good guy , within reason
Now now JD, are you trying to start a platform war?!?😜 Just kidding but man that song brings back memories! Picture a young canadafarms in my decked out 98 Ram with big subs under the back seat totally rocking out to that song LOL! White and Rob Zombie really made those bad boys thump hahaha
I think it would be in any modders best interest to make their mod available to console for the mod contest... all the additional votes you could garner by doing so is hard to ignore if you want to win.

Well you know BSM is going to be a heavy in there so we can count on one winning category from them that will be console friendly. Reading through this thread this morning I recall talking to a modder...... can't remember which one, and he said he wouldn't submit a mod to the contest. I'm not 100% on the reason but if i recall correctly there seems to be some hard feelings amongst modders that felt it was unfairly judged in the past. So if there are more that feel the same there may be a lot of great things we could be missing out on and a lot of great modders who don't bother submitting.
