Being the first day of FS 19 I thought I would open a topic here to get everyone’s first impressions. I have only been reading about it but from what I have seen I am glad I decided to wait a while to purchase it. Seems it has a fair amount of issues on day one and so did 17. It took a while to get it straightened out and it will likely be the same here. What are you thoughts?

Well, I'm so far quite liking it. But yeah, some problems though.
Unfortunately, the invert Y option makes it very hard for me to play. In that it isn't working for vehicles. Works fine for on foot.
Sound effects seem low, or is that just me?
I see there is an advanced render option, but I'm not sure it makes much difference.
Looking promising though. But I was under the impression that seasons was part if it but it isn't.
Not sure I like ui changes just for the sake of ui changes. Very CnC too.
Looks like 1299 slots on ps4. So seems a little better than expected. Need to get a good operation up and running to be sure.
I like you can remove and rebuild your starting house etc. Nice.
So far so good though.

The slot count is something that concerns me. Been reading on Giants forum that although you have 1200+ slots half of them are already used and it seems equipment uses a similar amount to 17. When they announced all the upgrades for 19 I feared the slot count would take a hit and it looks like that is the case. Also now it seem like things that didn’t use slots before are now taking up slots, ie bales for one.
Another huge disappointment for me is the ai. There are already reports of them turning around for no reason and detecting obstacles that are not there just like 17.
I do like the idea of creating your own farm but without the ability to create roads this feature IMO is not complete.
Lots of reports of FPS drops and stutter just like 17. They were really selling the improved optimization for this version but it appears it isn’t all that improved.
If my memory is correct it took the first 3 months of 17 to sort out a lot of the game breaking bugs so it will probably be the same with 19. really hope it doesn’t take that long but I won’t be surprised if it does.
One huge improvement that has been reported is that the “one dump” economy has been dropped and is now more like 13 and 15 so for me this is awesome.

Yeah, I noticed that starting a game (with some equipment already) stated 510/1299. But I've not really had a chance to push it to the limit yet, which I seriously did in FS17. The Invert Y problem and a busy life stopped me from playing any further yet. I am concerned, as I prefer running games on console than my PC rig. I also noted that new objects have a lot more slots than the older FS 17 copies. Sadly it was going to happen, better graphics and changes to placeables, well, there was going to be a hit on the slot count. But honestly, do we really need such hi-res quality on objects we typically zoom out on? Just a thought. Of course, it should look good, but there should be a balance. And certainly not the low-res pixelated textures we've seen on some objects previously. But we must all remember that they are not Rockstar games. They are just not at THAT level of game creation. (RDR2 is very very good if you didn't know). I think we're all looking at minimum a month to fix the basic problems. I hope the 1.02 fix might include the invert Y fix, as that is simply a game-breaker for me. Oddly, it is also something so simple that a bug like that should never have got past QA. Makes you wonder. But I must say the post-launch ranting on the official board is making me cringe. I understand the angst, but this is modern gaming. Sadly. It's just how it is.

With everything sold on the German map, still 418 used out of 1299. So if this is map related, then the map murders better do a damn good job of optimizing them.
Sad thing is, If they need to do so much for consoles, then we'll just get a lot less bothering to make them for consoles. I hope I'm wrong..
Above was on Felsbrunn. Davenport uses 518 with empty garage.
Therefore map is using slots, oh dear, I foresee lots of conflicts with mod mappers...

My brother and I both got the game at Walmart on release day. I got the PC version and he got the PS4 version (he likes the PS4 version better once he tried FS17 on it). I was surprised Walmart had the PC version, Best Buy didn't have it, Target didn't have it so I gave up thinking Walmart wouldn't have it either. That store surprises me sometimes.
My thoughts: I was a bit hesitant on the game when I started playing it for the first hour. It was a bit different than what I was used to in 17. I do like the choices we get in the beginning, I chose Farm Manager and love how I can choose my own equipment. I initially didn't like the steering, but as I continued playing with it I began to like it. I also love the fact that GIANTS finally got the John Deere license! I have the John Deere T560i and a John Deere 6145M, and I plan to get a 6R or 7R to replace my Case IH 7210 Pro soon (which is very similar to the one in America). But I still like the 7210, so I think I will hold on to it a little longer. The graphics are amazing! A ton better than 17. I also like the new mission system, we finally get to use our own equipment or lease the items. Though, I don't like how we don't get the field discounted for helping them, like we did in 17. Felsbrunn is what I am on currently, and it is a beautiful map, so is Ravenport. I could go on, but I'd give FS19 a 9.5/10. I plan on making it to 300+ hours on Felsbrunn like I did on Goldcrest Valley.
I have found an issue though... On my John Deere 6145M, I put a loader on it and it would continue to slowly slide when I was emptying some left over fertilizer into the seeder. I immediatly removed the loader brackets at the shop and haven't had any issues since. It's kind of doing it like FS15 did when it released, except 15 did it on everything. Maybe that's something they could fix on the next patch.

Well I am glad you are enjoying it JohnDeere318, I think PC players will be better off than console players that’s for sure. Still haven’t bought it and likely not going to for a while, seriously considering building a PC at this point. You know something that really is pi**ing me off with this version.....the fact that they are releasing previous version of equipment as mods when we have such limited mod space on consoles as it is. I read somewhere that the smaller they keep the base game the less they have to pay Sony/Microsoft and that is the only thing that makes sense here. They know how much people complained about the limited mod space for 17 and yet they are making things that should have been base game content into mods....very very disappointing. I would gladly pay a few more bucks not to have my mod space used by content that should already be in the base game. People are freaking out on Giants forum, saying things like “oh they should have tested this” or “this it the worse FS release yet”. People have short memories, remember when FS 17 was nearly unplayable for the first three months? Yeah that was only 2 short years ago but yet people forget. I am really starting to get annoyed with paying to have to be a beta tester but as you said miura74, this seems to be the way of things in the gaming industry these days. But for me this go around, I will keep my cash in my pocket and my sanity intact for now haha.

I have a few PC builds online. If you end up wanting to get a PC, tell me a budget, and I could show you a few.

Lmfao... I just saw my typo corrected by my phone. Oops, I meant modders... not murders.. thank you android for correcting stupidly. Lol.
Totally agree, everyone forget what happened last time. And now it repeats.
Don't get me wrong, I'm liking it so far, with what I've managed to play. But to me, the invert y bug clearly shows a completely crap QA department. It's a basic option and should have been checked as part of the standard first round tests. It is such a basic part of the game. It obviously wasn't tested.
I swear most developers today don't understand what testing really means. I was a dev for 10 years on mainframes, not gaming but batch processing and user interfaces. IBM stuff. Dull, trust me, really dull. But it doesn't matter when we talk testing that it wasn't games. Principles are the same. But most devs only test the way things are meant to be used. They hardly ever think about non-standard ways users might do things. I would have got my ass fired if we hadn't built rigious processes for order transactions.
I'm ranting a little there, sorry. But you get my point.
I'd also rather they developed useful features than stupid gimmicks. The dog isn't very well done IMHO. And naming your horses? What is this?!? I never understood that in CnC. In Ark survival, sure... but in a farming game?!
Oh dear, rant number 2...

And yeah I don't know why GIANTS is releasing previous versions of equipment into mods that should've been included in the base game to begin with. Makes no sense to me.

I see your point miura74, it seems like their testing is getting less and people who buy the product are doing more the guinea pig work. It shouldn't be like that, especially with a company that's been here for 10+ years. I get no game is going to be perfect, that's just a given, but if there is a bunch of bugs and flaws on release day, something's not right.
And yes the dog, I love it, but it's not well done, like you said. The naming of the horses, lol, just found that out today.

I have a few PC builds online. If you end up wanting to get a PC, tell me a budget, and I could show you a few. Thanks CrazyTrain I will do that for sure. What I would be looking for is high end build that won’t be outdated in a few months but also the farmer in me says I have to find the best deal possible LOL. Seriously though I am not really going to say I have a strict budget for something like this, I rarely buy myself anything so I will spend what it takes to have a good rig that will last me a while. It’s going to be used on a 4K TV and I have to be able to use a PS4 controller, other than that I am not too fussy. Are you playing on PC CT?

No, I'm still rocking out on the ps4. I have the builds online, but I doubt I would use the computers enough, so I don't want to spend that much money on them right now. All of the builds I have made are $1400 to $1800 but I'll try to make more. They are the best I could do while trying to save money. Ryzen 7 Ryzen 5 You would probably do best by going to memory express and having them build one in there. I'm not sure if you have one nearby, but I know that there is one in Winnipeg.

A big problem for me is mobility, I bounce around the country at a pretty rapid pace. I am tired of the game on console due to the restrictions and outdated hardware but unsure of taking the leap to PC. Just don’t know what to do. First I will wait until they get the game running properly (which will be into the new year I suspect) and then I will decide. My butt is getting sore from sitting on the fence already haha.
