Hey guys,
Sorry I haven't been around much, just haven't played FS in months and have lost interest, but FS19 will probably bring me back! I have seen a few of the screenshots and boy do they look amazing! What do you guys think of it? I think it looks gorgeous, a lot better than 17.

I've only seen the CGI trailer. Did they release any real footage?
They say better graphics, which means if they increase graphics then us console players may get less slots in fs19. Just a hunch. Same thing happened between ps3 and ps4 versions. And sorry GIANTS, but your game engine is not very optimised.
I'm waiting to see how CnC may go, so far not great in EA.

I agree miura74, I think we will be limited on slots for 19 and frame rates will likely start falling with even less equipment than it does now. I am not quite as optimistic about FS19 JohnDeere318. The new lighting with the sun will be cool but IMO the graphics were fine as they are. I am more curious to know if they are going to address the one dump economy. If this isn’t addressed I don’t think I will buy it because this really kills the playability for me. At the beginning of any map you expect it to be a grind but now I find the whole process to be a grind with the one dump and when I have to reset the game every load to maintain a higher price it breaks my immersion and usually just end up shutting it down. I never used to get bored with 13 and 15 but with 17 I get bored fast. There is a few reasons like nerfing the price of silage which I used to like to do.....it was kinda like a money cheat but still having to do the work, now I just end up using the money cheat if I want to advance but I really don’t like doing that, also the change in the way the great demand works and of course the one dump economy. I don’t think I will buy it upon realease, I am going to see what they have done with these things and I will make my decision accordingly. Not to mention the first 3 or 4 months of 17 were quite buggy as well. New toys won’t persuade me this time, if it’s just going to sit on the shelf because I get bored with the gameplay no amount of shiny things will change my mind. That’s just my opinion and I am not encouraging anyone to make their minds up based on my opinion......it is just my opinion...

The seasons mod made the day night cycle much better. Likely now it will come as part if the main game of course.
With that said, the seasons mod slows the game down a lot more. Not completely a bad thing, imho. But the grind is longer. I've been playing Oakfield with seasons and enjoying it. Well, hating the tiny forced access routes to fields though. But I had to use the money cheat mod (yh bad me) as I needed to branch out and plan my year of harvesting. Bales for the winter ahead, etc. You do need cash or face several years of grind. I like slow pace, but have limited gaming hours... So I wanted to speed it up. I also miss the quick fix silage, I too used to do that between tasks.
Why just nerf it? Why not make that part of the economy an option? Decrease sale prices yes/no. Not difficult to do.

I feel the same way about nerfing the prices miura74. They seem to be listening too much to the few who play the game for hours every day and are vocal about it on the forums. As far as seasons go I do hope they make it optional. I DL it, started a new save, fast forwarded till it snowed, drove my tractor around a bit and pushed a little bit of snow and that’s the extent of my seasons experience. It’s a great mod for the hardcore players but I too have limited time and for me it’s just too much. With the limited time I have I enjoy seeding and harvesting and tending to animals. I also farm IRL and winter is by far my least favourite time of the year so I really don’t want to be bothered with it in my game. As I said, a great game changing mod for the hardcore but not really for me.

That's a good question about seasons. I'm guessing it will be part of fs19. But yes, again a simple yes/no option in the settings. Let people customise the game how they want it.
I must say, I'm not a hard-core FS player, but I am trying out seasons. Only 3 day seasons. And I'm fast forwarding at points, provided animals have 3 days food. Still don't get why they altered that really. It was 6 days in base game no? Again make it an option! Snow on my game on Oakfield is appearing black in buckets or trailers. Error in texture likely, but nobody replied to my bug on the official board. But I'm with you on the snow part. A little fun at the start but very boring afterwards. I skip it.
Btw, Oakfield is nice but all the gates and limited access paths are starting to grind.

I thought I read somewhere that snow turns black in buckets and tippers because it uses the silage texture for some reason. I think there was a good reason but I can’t remember what it was. You would think that using the dry fertilizer texture would be the way to go but I don’t know, maybe they can’t make that work.

Oh ok. Still not sure if it is the season mod or the map.
I found a fix for the annoying ground response mod showing black particles. Just start a game then immediately quit to the menu. Reload and the black particles are gone. Bugged me like crazy this on console...
