Everyone immediately compares it to Giants Farming Simulator... all the naysayers on the Giants Forum who are critical of it and have an opinion without actually playing it.. say it's shit... but to be perfectly honest I am finding it more engaging and actually prefer the gameplay thusfar to FS17.
To me Giants Farming Simulator has always been an endless grind for the sake of grinding to get more money and buy things without any actual goals....other than the trophies on PSN which took less than a month. Pure gives you things to do. There are three game modes..
1. My First Farm: where you inherit a debt ridden farm that you have to bring back to life. (what I am doing now)
2. Farming Challenges: kind of like missions where a task is laid before you which you have to complete... but very diverse.
3. Free Farming: pretty much what FS is.
Pure to me is just so much more diverse and there are tonnes of things to do in 4 or 5 different countries which all have their own crops and crop specific equipment. There are WAY more crops types in Pure than FS.. wheat, barley, rye, hemp, rice, coffee, olives and grapes... and in the greenhouses tomatoes, peppers and cabbage. Greenhouses are automatic controlled but you have to provide the water and fertilizer much the same as FS...BUT... stuff doesn't sell automatically...its palleted and you have to pick it up and sell it before it goes bad.. (3 days) Chickens and rabbits are in the game and you can sell the rabbits for cash when they reach maturity. Chickens you buy as chicks.. they grow to laying age in which they provide eggs you can sell... older chickens that exceed laying age can then be sold... or they will eventually die... there are pigs, cows and sheep but haven't gotten around to them yet.
Tractors require regular service which can be done in your own shop on the farm... parts and associated things still have a cost... failure to do so will result in lost power mode in which you tractor will limp around at about 9 km/h until you get it serviced.
That is all I have at the moment... kind of just a perview if anyone is thinking about it... some say the graphics aren't as good as FS.. I don't mind them.. I wouldn't say they are worse it's just a different gaming engine... I have seen the photos Giants have released for FS19 graphics and yeah they are pretty but if they do nothing to improve gameplay... its just putting lipstick on a pig.
As far as I am concerned the gameplay and farm management far exceeds that provided by Giants Farming Simulator and if anything Pure is more of a "farming simulator" than Giants Farming Simulator ever has been.. Giants version is just a farming equipment simulator... and nothing more
