Firstly, did my post about Seasons mod kill the forum or what? Where did everyone go?!
Anyway, I quite like the new Vorpommern Rugen map for the console, this is just the kind of idea I had with my map. Wide, open, flat and simple, but with a few areas for placeables.
Sadly, I already noted it has a bug at the cow shed. An invisible ramp, see the tech support on GIANTS (I logged a bug).
I'm guessing, if I start a new game on this map and then later it is fixed, I must start again to get the updated/correct map right? I'm wanting to get back into some farming PC and console, but I can't remember if these kinds of things mean you need to start a new save each time. I don't want to spend too many hours on it, until it is fixed otherwise.
Well, perhaps some are still around on the board. Somewhere.

miura74 I still check in to the site and see if anyone has posted. Have wanted to post but never had anything to say. Still playing FS17 everyday. Unplugged the PS4 and bought a PC. I'm not sure about having to do a new save game. Since you mentioned the map I'll have to check it out. It's good to see someone else is still alive and playing.

Life! Lol.
Haven't tried that map, I'll take a look.
Hope they fix the invisible ramp problem soon, I really want to start a console game on it.

Well, thought I'd try that map Spectacle island.
Not bad, done interesting ideas, but not so polished in many places.
Bridges didn't seem great to me, perhaps it is just me. But I do know that the water tracks between those poles would drive me crazy. Just IMHO.

I played a bit on Spectacle Island. Being able to clean up the farm is a good touch and clearing fields before planting. I more enjoyed cruising the waterways on the ferry.

Haha still alive and kickin guys, I’ve been doing the same as blademaster, checking to see if anyone posted but really didn’t have much to say lol. Been playing a bit but not a whole lot. miura74 as far as a map update it seems to vary depending on how much the MA has to change to correct the issue, sometimes it will work with the existing save and sometimes it won’t. This doesn’t seem like that big of a thing to fix so I would think you would be ok on your existing save but that is just a guess on my part. Hope the MA fixes the issue soon though because this is one of the maps I have been eyeballing for a fresh new start. blademaster How are you liking the game on PC?

canadafarms to be honest, for me, the PC was not worth the money spent. Mainly because I had to give up the 40" tv which for me is more an encompassing experience. There are some great mods on PC. Follow Me, Manual Attach, More Realistic Mod I used on every map. But, with all due respect to all map makers and my inability to even know how to start making a map, there aren't that many good ones out there. IMO, and believe me for the first month having the PC and doing nothing but trying maps, there are only about 10 that I like and half of those are on PS4. I know maps are a personal preference so many would argue with me on what I have just written. I actually unplugged the PC and plugged in the PS4 yesterday. I'm enjoying the big screen . When I bought the PC I thought the grass was going to be greener. As usual from a distance it looked greener but, for me, in reality there are only patches of green.

The great thing about the consoles is the switch on and play. Simple.
I still prefer consoles for that simple aspect. My fast PC has hardly been used for gaming, mostly for Adobe editing. Sure it can run almost anything in 4K, but I still prefer the console.
FS on it keeps getting the bindings messed up with Steam. Tiresome. That and oh look another Nvidia update. Tiresome.
PC grass might be greener, but it is surrounded by Microsoft slugs.

Blademaster, have you ever tried hooking up your tv and a controller to your pc? Or does the controller not work with fs17 on pc? .

PS4 controllers do work on PC, I use one. I have the Sony wireless adaptor (USB) which connects to the controller. I then use the Steam big picture settings for PS4 controller. All seems to work fine. With Steam Big picture, I think you can plug it in directly with USB too. You need the adaptor if you want to use it wireless to the PC.

I did hook up PC to tv and also controller. The only issue was picture had what I think is called tearing. Lines that would move from top to bottom and equipment was not as crisp as PS4. I've not heard of Stream big picture. Would that help?

I think I am the same blademaster. I could easily switch to PC but I just like the ease of playing on console. Just from being on the forums it seems a PC is just way more involved than playing on a console. As miura74 pointed out above, things like mod conflicts, software updates, graphics drivers, input bindings.....TBH it makes my head spin lol. The one PC only mod that I really want would be courseplay. I don’t have the time that some people do to play so when I do I like to have a lot going on at the same time. This is where CP would be a game changer, for me anyways. I am sure there are other things I would enjoy on PC but I don’t know if the pros outweigh the cons....I never say never but for now it’s a no for me.

I looked into the Steam Big Picture and it looked to me like I had to buy a device that facilitates the game on the tv. Not sure if I'm correct but that's what it looked like to me. So in an attempt to do a comparison between the pc and PS4 I plugged the pc in and hooked it up to the tv again. The map I chose was Lawfolds. lo and behold there is none of the tearing that I mentioned earlier. I'm not sure what map I was on when I first bought the computer and played it on the big screen but Lawfolds works. It still isn't as crisp as the computer monitor but like Jagger says you can't always get what you want. Im hoping your all old enough to know who Mick Jagger is. I'm not going to go into full on test mode on which maps work and which ones don't. But I'll try maps I think I might like and see if there are issues like I had in the past. I'm going to stay with the pc for now because I really do like the mods I mentioned earlier that aren't on PS4.
