So I see the long awaited patch has finally arrived, and quite frankly I am a bit disappointed. I haven't DL it yet because I am waiting until I get home to use a proper Internet connection but I carefully read the change log and there really isn't anything in there to get too excited about. I am not trying to be a hateful troll towards Giants like we have talked about in other threads, only bringing it up here for conversational purposes, BUT I am really starting to feel that they are dropping the ball when it comes to supporting the product they are selling. Pretty much the only thing I seen in the notes that is of any use to me is some of the tractors have more tire options.....and even that doesn't interest me much, and really wasn't something that was broken in the first place....so am I missing something because there were so many things reported since the last patch that seem to have gone without any attention....AI workers still need a lot of work, some of the Kuhn and Big Bud DLC equipment issues, uninstalling mods issue, arm speed sensitivity, and I am sure there are a lot more that I am forgetting about....this patch has been in the works for 6 months and this is all they fixed??

I would sadly have to agree... the one thing that bothers me the most is Sosnovka... I loved the map so much and when the released it for FS17 it was complete garbage, half assed and incomplete... and to this day still is. I think some of the new games coming are going to make significant inroads into capturing the farm gaming market and if Giants don't pull up their pants and start taking the potential loss of income seriously they may soon be pretenders to the crown.

Yeah I am hoping another worthy challenger comes along but so far every other game that has been put out seems to be a bust. Real Farm wasn't received very well from what I have read, CnC seems dead in the water, Pro Farmer didn't get very far, Pure Farming is up next so I guess we will see. FS is still great, the bugs haven't really affected me much but rather than them working on another new version(FS19) I would like to see this one work as it should first.

Sadly in all future releases...without a new gaming engine...its always just going to be more of the same.. but I agree I would love to see this current version be all that it should be before moving on to the next iteration

Modern software trends are to make new editions and not spend time making something "solid" with respect to bugs and features. Very sad. I actually thought both Rockstar, UBI Soft and Bethesda (and others) are going in the right direction with a more "eternal" view of their games. "The division" is still going strong and has lived past a normal next edition point. They also continue to update, improve and add new content. Just like GTA. Now with Creation club, it will be interesting to see where Fallout 4 and Skyrim go. But I fear the microtransactions on those will ruin any improvements. That leads to a question though: Would you pay a small amount to add, improve, or include new features?
With that said, I still see FS17 has many very annoying bugs, that they just don't seem to want to fix. I notice that on both PS4 (guess also XBox) and PC, that the menu lists for mods "jump" around from position to position. A small thing, but something they have never fixed. Why not? I'm also annoyed with their support of DUALSHOCK on PC. Yes, it actaully can support DUALSHOCK. Now, I did make the mistake of not buying the Steam version of the game, as I could have used the "Big picture" mode to support the controller. Meh. Anyhoo, I didn't get the Steam version and paid directly to them. So the game detects the controller DUALSHOCK and sets the mapping up, sadly it messes up more than half of them. The real issue? Well, every time I restart the game now it keeps resetting the mappings. Got so annoyed over this, I've not played on PC for a while. Sure, I can re-map it each time, but due to mods with rubbish descriptions and the list being terrible for mappings, it's not easy to make sure you map the right analogue direction to the right function. OH dear, now I'm ranting...

I agree Miura... its quantity over quality but some are starting to realize that it should be the opposite... The Division when it first dropped was chaos with hackers and gankers galore... for a game that was touted to be a cover based shooter it was nothing of the sort... just dickheads running around willy nilly in groups and ganking anoyone just for the sport of it... I platinumed and got out.. I hear its better now..
Skyrim I loved... solo...won't play it online ever...
and microtransactions ruin any game where they transactions allow player upgrading in lieu of doing the work..i think if its cosmetic its fine... if someone wants to piss away their money on it.
One thing I am really enjoying right now is Spintires Mudrunner... I became addicted after the first night... its challenging and you can play coop with friends... so instead of just swearing at the TV you can swear at them... it is great fun

You guys play so many different games where my view is much more narrow considering I pretty much only play FS. I miss the days when you bought a game and put it in the console and it just worked. That said, it seems there is more consideration given to the input from the community which means they have to constantly push the limits of what can be done to keep the masses happy but with that there are going to be a lot of problems to solve. Personally I would rather see them keep improving the current game and maybe release DLC add ons to keep the game fresh and have the game be solid and bug free as opposed to a new release every year or two that isn't and then before they get that fixed release another one that is even more glitchy.
That's just me though, probably the masses would disagree, with the trends of getting a new iPhone every year and just throw out the old one because its not the latest and greatest thing even though most people don't even use the new little gadgets and slight improvements.....Ugggh now I'm ranting ....and in case anyone is wondering I am still rockin the iPhone 4s LOL

Agreed about the Division, but online multiplayer is not for me. I honestly hate online. I enjoyed the coop of it though, I have a good friend who is crazy about The Division. He's logged 1500 hours so far. Crazy guy, but the coop missions were a lot of fun. Don't get me wrong on microtransactions, I'm not a fan of them at all. Though, I'm interested to see where the Creation club goes. In principle, it is actually new content, like mods, but packaged officially and guaranteed to not glitch your game. Sounds like something between mods and DLC. For a small fee, I'd love to see mods like that. Tested and official, would also mean Sony would not be so strict over the updates. With that said though, so far on Fallout4 on the PS4, only the new furniture was interesting (I like settlement builds) but so far nothing of any "depth" about game or feature changes. Plenty of "cosmetic" rubbish, but no game changing stuff (yet). I quite liked Spintires (original) cr41g, was quite fun. Hope you're better at it than me, I was a complete fail. Couldn't get that log crane to work well either, worse than FS, IMHO. Hope they might have fixed that in the updated version. Let me know what you think about that crane? I hear ya on the old console games "just working" canadafarms. It was nice to just put in a game that worked. But then, there was no way to update the game "after" the release, so of course the developers did much better testing. Another problem today is that the consoles have clearly become more "PC" related, hence quicker and easier ports from PC games. That coupled with an audience that needs more and more, faster and faster, results in poor games with big day one patches and problems. We don't seem to make things better, just bigger and more glitchy. And you're absolutely right canadafarms on the modern trend of "new" tech every year. I'm also someone who thinks, if it ain't broke, why replace it. And serious respect to the iPhone 4s!
