So... back from holiday... and never did get around to completing my map... I have become quite disillusioned with farm sim of late as it just can't seem to hold my attention anymore, the plow, cultivate, sow, harvest rinse repeat grind... there just isn't enough in the game to do and there isn't enough places to do it.... this game needs way more depth to it.
The modding contest was a joke... we have hardly seen a thing from it... for example there were 23 map submissions to the contest...wanna guess how many we have seen on console...yeah...thats right... ZERO.
The platinum release comes out in November... that MAY be exciting but I bet the map is another low grade, AI optimized rectangle fest with 10% of the effort and the realism that some of the great mod maps that have been released have. Its sad... I looked so forward to FS17 after logging many hours in FS13 and FS15... but in that time period other games have become WAY better... Giants have managed to just remain average.
I am going to repost this on their site so that others can share my current state of "enthusiasm".
SO other than that....how is everyone...how have your summers been?

I feel ya on the contest thing that's for sure, haven't seen much from it at all on consoles, although I have been so busy that I haven't hardly played. When I do play I have been playing on MVR, I know it's not for everyone but really wanted to use the Big Bud DLC equipment on it.
Summer has been good but this last month has been crazy busy, we are getting into harvest, I have been doing construction, and I have had 2 weddings to go to the last 2 weekends, running around like a chicken with my head cut off. Seems I am 2 days behind all the time, this is the first morning I haven't had to be out by 6:00 am for quite a while and its usually dark when I get done for the day, that's why I haven't been on the forums lately. Other than that it's been pretty good.

yikes...back to back weddings.. thankfully we have had only one to go to this year. My wife's family is huge so there is always something going on... but in the last year it seems that it's babies...

To tell you the truth I gave up on logging adventures on SML. It was driving me crazy. You guys have been playing much longer than I have so I haven't lost the interest yet. Which is amazing for me. I do understand where your coming from cr41g. There are times when the wash rinse and repeat does get old. I know this is a cardinal sin and I may get banned from the forum for this but, I cheated $30 mil. Into MVR all under the guise of being backed by a person who lives in Ireland and wanted to expand to the states. I bought all the fields and many different types of equipment. I'm researching most of the equipment I'm buying. I'm taking my time and playing as realistic as possible. I'm getting off the equipment and checking hitches before I attach implements. I've got a fleet of trucks all over the map to refrain from teleporting. My focus here will be cows and building a dairy. When I get tired of the big operation I go to The Golden Days of Farming for a little while. I am looking forward to Cattle and Crops. I do hope it comes out on console.

Wow cr41g that is quite a list, I haven't even heard of most of those games. Haha blademaster, no one is going to hold a grudge about cheating in some money, thats the beauty of this game, do it however your heart desires. I actually put in an extra 2 mil in my account on MVR..... I couldn't stand the thought of grinding on those big fields with the starter equipment, even though the starter stuff is pretty nice. Still working on the two smallest fields and cutting grass for some extra cash.....still a ways away from being able to buy the next field lol.

So Great Smokey Mountain ended up being a fail.... I just didn't like what I had done. So I started Pacific Inlet Logging.....does that count ? Couple images of what I got to on the weekend... first field created... bit small. Logging and silage are going to be the money makers here until I can clear enough land. I really hate logging...every aspect of it.. I cant pick up felled trees with anything without them just sliding across the ground... I can't use the harvester to cut into a trailer... I hate it all..... lol. The area with the Mill "was" just a huge concrete pad... but not anymore.. My secret lair....
